The
world and the mind arise and set together as one; but of the two,
the world owes its appearance to the mind alone; That alone is
real in which this (inseparable) pair, the world and the mind,
has risings and settings; that Reality is the one infinite
Consciousness, having neither rising nor setting.

Being conscious is cutting through your own melodrama and being
right here.
Exist in no mind, be empty, here now, and trust that as a
situation arises, out of you will come what is necessary to deal
with that situation including the use of your intellect when
appropriate.
Your intellect need not be constantly held on to to keep
reassuring you that you know where youre at, out of fear of
loss of control. Ultimately, when you stop identifying so much
with your physical body and with your psychological entity, that
anxiety starts to disintegrate. And your start to define yourself
as in flow with the universe; and whatever comes along ~ death,
life joy, sadness ~ is grist for the mill of awakening, Not this
versus that but whatever.
- Ram Dass, from Grist for the Mill
When you look through tinted glass, reality takes on that tint.
It isn't that reality is tinted. The tinted glass mediates and
distorts reality. People fight for the distortion that this
'I," as an individual or as a group, is separate from all
other beings. And yet that "I" is actually nothing! It
is a made-up story. Yet in the belief that the story is reality,
there is colossal tragedy and suffering. When this "I"
that is assumed to be real and separate is examined by
consciousness, it is discovered to be none other than
consciousness itself.
As a conscious human being, you have the opportunity to discover
that never, not even for an instant, is it possible to be
separate from consciousness, from the source of everything, from
God. Once you discover this directly, you then broadcast it with
every breath you take. Whether you speak of this discovery or you
never speak again, you will broadcast it through the natural
radiance of your being. In your willingness to take that chance,
to accept that invitation, you will naturally share that peace
everywhere.

Forgiving is the greatest of all giving. It is so difficult for
us because it involves taking the blame. Not in a legalistic
sense - 'I might have done it,' 'There but for the grace of God
go I' - but in the sense that when you really forgive, you
forgive from your heart of hearts. And in your heart of hearts,
you are one with all, and also one with whomever you have a
grievance. There's no one to blame. You are taking away all blame
when you forgive.
...In the late afternoon of our day, and in the late afternoon of
our lives, if we let go all that we are holding against anyone,
the evening of our life will be clear.
- David Steindl-Rast, from The Music of
Silence, published by Harper Collins, posted

Your problem is you're... too busy holding onto your
unworthiness.
- Ram Dass
To meet everything and everyone through stillness instead of
mental noise is the greatest gift you can offer to the universe.
I call it stillness, but it is a jewel with many facets: that
stillness is also joy, and it is love.
- Eckhard Tolle
