the expance of the visible universe
with all its qualities dissolves
to nothing, to where there is
only health and a great joy.
All teaching comes to this.

"If you can
release judgment and live in the NOW, you
will be surprised at what comes through.
The more you
practice the attitude of Grace, the more
proficient the
energy flow. When there is a reverence
for all life, the
consciousness is raised in frequency
vibration to allow
for the healing of humanity.

Kodo-What you can do!
What can you do now to
begin your journey into the world
of Kodo?
Kodo really begins by
developing and cultivating
humility and patience. To begin with the
intent of
becoming a Master or Expert or Teacher
of Kodo, in my
opinion, is the best way to derail the
process of
appreciation of Kodo. You wouldn't want
to be a Kodo
Master who couldn't tell the difference
between Kyara
and Sasora would you? Today it seems to
me, "Everyone
wants to be Roshi!" But in desiring
to become Roshi, you
never can be Roshi because Roshi is the
epitome of
humility, and lacks self centered
desires.
What you really want to be is a Movie Star!

Patience is required
because it is a 35 year path even
under the wing of a true Japanese
Incense Master. I
think this is good because knowing it
will take you 35
years surely puts your intentions in
perpective. No
quicky short courses, and unless you
want to just don a
kimono, and delude yourself that you are
an incense
master, and walk around like the

Here is a poem from the Plum Branch Chapter (#32)
"Princess Asagao had sent
perfumes kneaded into rather
large balls
in two jars, indigo and white, the former
decorated
with a pine branch and the latter a branch of
plum.
Though the cords and knots were conventional, one
immediately
detected the hand of a lady of taste.
Inspecting
the gifts and finding them admirable, the
prince came
upon a poem in faint ink which he softly
read over
to himself. 'Its blossoms fallen, the plum is
of no
further use. Let its fragrance sink into the
sleeves of
another.' " -- Tale of Genji--Chapter 32 --
