99. The knowledge ‘I am’ means consciousness, God, Guru,
Ishwara, but you,
the Absolute, are none of these.
The knowledge ‘I am’ is but one of many names that have
been attributed to it, like consciousness,
God or Ishwara and Guru.
Why so many names?
Because
the ‘I am’ is nameless and all these names have come by as
it (the knowledge ‘I am’)
intuitively
revealed itself to different seekers who had deeply
meditated on the ‘I am’.
Some saw it as God, some saw it as Brahman, some saw it as
Guru and so forth.
The ultimate revelation is, of course, that you stand apart
from all these and are the
Absolute, the formless, the eternal and totally free of all
attributes.
