Interview with Brendan Smith
В
Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8K4E5M2ceMВ (Includes descriptive listing of tracks)
В
В
Brendan Smith is a 27 year old intern at the Krishnamurti Foundation of America in Ojai, California. http://kfa.org His main interest is space itself in which is allowed "the freedom of raw perceiving."В That is the primary topic of the conversation.
В
Brendan is co-hosting the Timeless Spring retreat in September, 2013: http://farhorizons.org/programs/2013programs/timeless-spring/. We talk about the retreat quite a bit.
В
Brendan's informative and diverse website is http://everythingislooking.com

A different kind of retreat ... hosted by Antal Szalay and Brendan Smith ...
В
"Spend time in natural silence and commune the foundation of the human heart. Being together in a way where there is no other than this."

Timeless Spring
В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В
Far Horizons Retreat Center, Sequioa National Park

September 2nd - September 15th, 2013

http://farhorizons.org/programs/2013programs/timeless-spring/В
В

presented by Nondual Institute
В
В В В В В В В В  There is this open and clear reality. It seems like timeless spring. The colors, sounds and forms are at ease and seem to come from a place where nothing is hidden and fruition is happening. Seeing clearly that our vastness is what we are and that perception begins with separation. We commune in the authenticity of self without knowing and without being able to imagine how this way of being affects our being together as society and community. Being together in a way where there is no other than this - seed of clear sight, fulfillment and undivided connectedness - our natural perception is its soft openness. How does humanity evolve coming from the place where there is nowhere further to go?
В
В В В В В В В  This retreat opens up the possibility of resting in and falling into our natural shape of being. Seeing clearly what we are not who we think we are or who we think we should be. Together we receive, experience and evolve in a way of connectedness where we find ourselves in the other seeing that there is just this one moving and evolving consciousness that we are. We celebrate community informed by contentless openness. This is a unique endeavor opening for the possibility that conditioned mind finds rest in its origin and that form finds shape coming from openness. May the authentic self express itself uncovered in society and establish itself in the collective consciousness. How would society and community look like coming from the heart of completion and fulfillment?
В
В В В В В В В В В  In these days we will cultivate being with each other coming from the place of completion. We will spend time in natural silence and commune the foundation of the human heart. Being together in a way where there is no other than this.

В
“Sometimes contemplatives think that the whole end and essence of their life is to be found in recollection and interior peace and the sense of the presence of God.В  They become attached to these things.В  But recollection is just as much a creature as an automobile.В  The sense of interior peace is no less created than a bottle of wine.В  The experimental Г‚вЂ˜awarenessÂ’ of the presence of God is just as truly a created thing as a glass of beer.В  The only difference is that recollection and interior peace – and the sense of the presence of God – are spiritual pleasures and the other are material.В В  Attachment to spiritual things is therefore just as much an attachment as inordinate love of anything else.В  The imperfection may be more hidden and more subtle: but from a certain point of view that only makes it all the more harmful because it is not so easy to recognize.”

Jacob Parece's first interview

В

В

"Inquiry may take an effort and openness to be honest with yourself. It may take you going beyond the doubt, beyond the thinking mind and to be completely uncomfortable with the situations and circumstances. Even as the conditioning of who you believe yourself to be is uncomfortable and wants to 'escape' into the thinker/analyzer if you for a moment within the storm of mind STOP and look directly at the background of where the thoughts are coming from the illusion disappears.

"Its only when you are invested into the stories of mind does the mind have any power over who you are. Begin by investing your energy not into changing your mind but detaching ourself from its importance. This starts the road of freedom from the mind and its 'problems' not as an avoidance but a realization that it doesn't hold the solution to making oneself happy, content and at peace." -Jacob Parese

Jacob PareceВ is a new teacher who lives in Rhode Island, U.S.A. He gave his first teaching talk in September, 2013. He turned 21 about two weeks ago. His website isВ http://jacobparece.com. Nonduality Highlights Issue #4864, Saturday/Sunday, March 9/10, 2013

Dear ones.. does someone need to hear this right now?

Remember not to take anything too personally.

Remember that when someone reacts it is usually because they are triggered by something personal in them and not at all about you. In this way you will not engage in aggression that is not useful. You do not not have to attend every argument you are invited to.

Sometimes people have a lot of battles going inside them, and though it seems unfair that they take it out on others - they are the only ones who need to deal with things and be responsible for their thoughts, choices and actions. It has nothing to do with you. You can try and choose to not react. Simply disengage and walk away.

Do not let any one drain away your positive energy and your power. You can help people... but you cannot be a door mat to other people's whims and moods all the time.

Unconditional loving means sometimes to back away a few paces and let the other person realize and learn their own lessons.

Love, be there, be compassionate, be kind, but always know and understand when it is quite all right to say, 'Enough is enough.'

Sometimes all you can do it Love - and let it be.

~ Author unknown, posted to DailyDharma

The only reason we don't open our hearts and minds to other people is that they trigger confusion in us that we don't feel brave enough or sane enough to deal with. To the degree that we look clearly and compassionately at ourselves, we feel confident and fearless about looking into someone else's eyes.

- Pema ChГѓВΆdrГѓВΆn

Remember above all that you cannot relax just by saying to yourself: "Relax". It is an actual exercise of internal attention. It is a directed effort that has to be made comparatively consciously and even if you do it only once a week you will get results...

Teaching of Maurice Nicoll posted to SufiMystic

Having looked and understood the correct position of the Self with respect to projections, now keep your attention inside the Self. Like this, everything becomes quiet. The mind actually loves being here; it just fights initially, because it is accustomed to being outside in the playground called existence.

- Mooji from Writing on Water posted to AlongTheWay

The individual does not finally merge with his original nature any more than a wave merges with water. They were not different to begin with. A wave is nothing more than the shifting shape of the water itself. It is not a question of joining separate things but of the abandonment of something inessential and superficial, the false identity of a separate individual entity.

- Ramesh S. Balsekar from A Net of Jewels posted to AlongTheWay

You are the sky. Everything else – it's just the weather.

The End
В
This morning, it came!
Out of nowhere, no time, no space, it came.
An intimation of nothingness sensing itself.
It whispered, "This is that, and you're it."
В
Outside of the dream, watching
the dream, it felt that there wasn't any dream
to watch, nor a self to see.
В
It left no understanding, just a sense of freedom
from being anything.

Г‚вЂ˜A Zen Master's life is one continuous mistake.Â’ ~ Dogen
В
This is the story of my life! It is the story of everyoneÂ’s life.
В
When I mistake myself for some Г‚вЂ˜thingÂ’ then I am mistaken – and it follows that everything Г‚вЂ˜elseÂ’ is also mistaken.
В
ItÂ’s not even one mistake after another (even that would be a mistake) - itÂ’s one continuous mistake.
В
Nothing can be taken to be what it really is but only what it seems to be – what it really is can never be taken – only mistaken. The error is in the taking – in the interpretation – all interpretations are mistakes.
В
There are no Г‚вЂ˜rightÂ’ takes or Г‚вЂ˜wrongÂ’ takes only mis-takes.
В
But the overarching mistake is to believe that anything can truly be Г‚вЂ˜takenÂ’ anyway – and with the recognition that nothing can truly be taken then it is also known that nothing can be Г‚вЂ˜mistakenÂ’.
В
This story is one continuous mistake. What a perfect storm!

В
The blue sky, the flower, the river, the cloud, these things have a healing nature.
If you allow yourself to be in touch with these healing elements, the wounds within
your body and your mind will be healed. We should allow ourselves to be healed,
and therefore, we should allow ourselves to BE IN THE HEART OF LIFE , which
contains so many wonderful things, like the children, the flower, and so on...
В
The seeds in our consciousness can function like anti-bodies. What is important is
that you continue to plant new seeds, the kind of seeds that are both refreshing
and healing. And if you just do that, by practicing mindful living so that you can
be in touch with the flower, with the cypress tree, with the fresh air, with the
beautiful eyes of the children, then these seeds will be planted in yourself, and
they will naturally take care of the seeds of your suffering. You don't even have
to touch them.

The Looking Glass: Language as Mirror
by Fred Davis
В
В
Notice that you are already awake.
В
Right now, this moment, the only reason you can read these words is that you're awake.В  You're already awake.В  You're as awake as it gets.В  You're already fully awake.
В
Given that you're already fully awake, how then could you wake up further?В В В  Since you're already awake, does that idea even make sense?В  You can't wake up more from where you are right now.В  And you can't wake up again.
В
If you want to read a book through that body, or watch a video, or send it to a retreat for further clarity or to get some context that has the potential to open to the door to further clarity, that's great.В  But before you do, notice that you don't need to read another book, watch a video, or go to a retreat in order to wake up, because you're already awake.В
В
If you want to do meditation, drum, dance, chant, or what have you, for the sake of grounding yourself in that present human experience you're having, or calming that unit's mind so that you can better hear yourself talk to yourself, and better watch yourself dance for yourself, terrific.В  Have at it.В  But, be absolutely aware that you can't practice yourself into awakening.В  You can't achieve what you already are.
В
You're just not who you think you are; that's the only issue here.В  You're undergoing a case of mistaken identity, and all you need today is a little light reflected from this mirror, this mirror of clear language that is also you. There is only you, but you tend to get a bit cloudy sometimes, and forget that.В  It comes with the territory when your spaciousness contracts around human beings, and it's no big deal.В  It's fine.В  When you're ready to be clear you find a bright mirror, so here you are, back in front of the vanity mirror.В
В
Vanity, vanity, all is vanity!В  This is all you, every bit of it--you dancing for you, you preening for you, just you showing off for yourself, to yourself and loving it.
В

You think you're the human being reading these words.В
В
You're not.В  Well, you actually are that human also, but you're not that person exclusively.В  You're the awareness that's reading these words through that human being. The human is not reading the words; you are.В  The human is a reading tool for you just as reading glasses are a tool for the human. Reading glasses never mistake themselves for being the reader; humans almost always do.В
В
You think you need to wake up.В  You don't.В  All that has to occur is for you to recognize yourself as what you are.В  "Awaken" makes it sound like something really new and different needs to happen.В  It doesn't.В  Recognition, on the other hand, is simply about noticing what already is.В  See how much lighter the idea of recognition is versus the idea of waking up?В  Why make it hard on yourself, when you're clearing longing to see/be your true nature again.
В
Be easy on yourself.В  How much effort does it take for that human to recognize itself in a mirror?В  None.В  The same is true for you.В  You just have to be willing to look in the mirror and see the reflection instead of the projection.В

"Why is everyone here so happy except me?"

"Because they have learned to see goodness and beauty everywhere," said the Master.

"Why don't I see goodness and beauty everywhere?"

"Because you cannot see outside of you what you fail to see inside."

- Anthony de Mello

Withdraw into yourself and look. And if you do not find yourself beautiful yet, act as does the creator of a statue that is to be made beautiful: he cuts away here, he smoothes there, he makes this line lighter, this other purer, until a lovely face has grown upon his work. So do you also: cut away all that is excessive, straighten all that is crooked, bring light to all that is overcast, labour to make all one glow of beauty and never cease chiselling your statue, until there shall shine out on you from it the godlike splendour of virtue, until you shall see the perfect goodness surely established in the stainless shrine... Never did eye see the sun unless it had first become sunlike, and never can the soul have vision of the First Beauty unless itself be beautiful.

- Plotinus

You see persons and things not as they are but as you are.

- Anthony de Mello

At this time in our present history we have the ability to be conscious of the stories we have been taught and how they define us, as well as the stories we unquestionably have believed about who another is. And we can take responsibility for the result. We can marvel when we discover that the stories of previously demonized others (enemies) are as beautiful and multi-layered as our own. We mature when we see that some of the stories cherished as the foundation of a culture are revealed to be flimsy and insubstantial and sometimes outright false. One generation's true and defining story can be proved to be a lie in the next generation. Stories that celebrate freedom and revolution against tyranny can turn on themselves and become stories of reigns of terror.

We recognize the location of the story in our flesh and emotions. From this recognition choice is born. We have most often either chosen to continue the given story or to rebel against that story. Naturally we have been thrilled to discover that we can choose to live a different story, one we feel more in alignment with. There is yet another choice. We have the capacity to take a moment and release all stories. We can experience what it means to be nobody.

Underneath all the stories, we can experience that deep core of ourselves that is historyless, genderless and parentless. That presence is unencumbered by relationships and has no past and no future. In the core of our beingness we are free of definitions. Unencumbered by our definitions we experience ourselves as conscious intelligence aware of itself as open, endless space. This instant of being storyless is an instant of freedom. For even if our story is filled with light and beauty, to the degree that we define ourselves through that story, we are less free.

After such a moment, stories are never the same. They can be present, as they most likely will be, but they no longer have inherent power to define us. The inner wealth that is available to us is then not limited or augmented by particular inner or outer events. While the personality or the "creatureness" of each individual continues just as stories continue, the underlying awareness, the true "I" has come home to itself.

- Gangaji from Hidden Treasure: Uncovering The Truth In Your Life Story

Happiness is our natural state. Happiness is the natural state of little children, to whom the kingdom belongs until they have been polluted and contaminated by the stupidity of society and culture. To acquire happiness you don't have to do anything, because happiness cannot be acquired. Does anybody know why? Because we have it already. How can you acquire what you already have? Then why don't you experience it? Because you've got to drop something. You've got to drop illusions. You don't have to add anything in order to be happy; you've got to drop something. Life is easy, life is delightful. It's only hard on your illusions, your ambitions, your greed, your cravings. Do you know where these things come from? From having identified with all kinds of labels!

- Anthony de Mello, from Awareness

The game is not about becoming somebody, it's about becoming nobody.

- Ram Dass

Your spiritual journey can only begin when you
give up your attachment to the melodramatic
story that youÂ’ve been calling your life.
В
Detachment doesnÂ’t mean, however, that youÂ’re
uninvolved with the illusory world.
В
Detachment only means that your involvement
with the world is at such a high level that you
have no demands about whatÂ…or howÂ…it's
unfolding.
В
Consequently, whatever happens in your life is
always 100% OK with you.

The last step, then, is to become detached from
your detachment.

В
Inner Worlds was created by Canadian film maker, musician and meditation teacher Daniel Schmidt. The film could be described as the external reflection of his own adventures in meditation. As Daniel came to meditative insights, he realized that these same insights were discovered over and over in spiritual traditions around the world and that all traditions share a common mystical underpinning. He realized that it is this core experience that connects us not only to the mysterious source of all creation, but to eachother as well. Along with his wife Eva, Daniel currently lives in a log home tucked away in a forest of tall pine trees located in Ontario, Canada. It is in this beautiful setting where they run a meditation and yoga center called Breathe True Yoga www.breathetrue.com.
В
Daniel has studied meditation from the traditions of Buddhism, Taoism, the Yogic traditions of India, as well as the mystical traditions of various cultures, and has come to his own teaching method helping point people towards their own inner wisdom and knowledge. "Meditation is not a so much a technique to master as it is a re-orientation of the heart; a selfless act of love and surrender into the mystery and stillness at the core of our being". Daniel has always had a strong life connection with sound and music. He has been a composer for over 20 years with an extensive library of music venturing into many genres and styles, and he is the President and CEO of REM Publishing Ltd. Music is not something to be comprehended merely with the hearing faculty. The vibratory nature of the universe is understood when we recognize that everything is music.
В
Eva has studied and teaches chakra yoga, hatha yoga, meditation and healing through expressive arts. She has integrated yogic traditions from around the world and attended the Pyramid Yoga Center in Thailand for extensive yoga training. Eva is a sound healer, artist and was a strong creative force in the editing room as "Inner Worlds" was being created. Together Dan and Eva were the Shiva and Shakti forces that birthed the film into the world.
В
It became clear during the making of the film that Inner Worlds Outer Worlds had to be released for free for the benefit of all beings. In the ancient traditions the dharma or “the truth” was always taught freely and never for personal gain or profit in order to preserve the purity of the teachings. It is Daniel and EvaÂ’s belief that to awaken one's true self, one must awaken the entire world. Daniel and Eva have started the Awaken the World initiative www.awakentheworld.com to bring the ancient knowledge back to the earth in order to restore balance and harmony on the planet.

"The Great Work...is to carry out the transition from a period of human
devastation of the Earth to a period when humans would be present to the
planet in a mutually beneficial manner.
В
The deepest cause ...of the present devastation is found in a mode of
consciousness that has established a radical discontinuity between the human
and other modes of being and the bestowal of all rights on the humans.
В
All human activities, professions, programs, and institutions must henceforth be
judged primarily by the extent to which they inhibit, ignore, or foster a
mutually enhancing human/Earth relationship."

I remember when I first arrived at my teacher Ajahn ChahÂ’s monastery, he
looked at me and said, “I hope youÂ’re not afraid of suffering.” I replied, “What
do you mean? I came here to meditate and find inner peace and happiness.” He
explained, “There are two kinds of suffering, the suffering we run from
because we are unwilling to face the truth of life, and the suffering that comes
when weÂ’re willing to stop running from the sorrows and difficulties of the
world. The second kind of suffering will lead you to freedom.”

The ancient masters were subtle, mysterious, profound, responsive.
The depth of their knowledge is unfathomable.
Because it is unfathomable,
All we can do is describe their appearance.
Watchful, like men crossing a winter stream.
Alert, like men aware of danger.
Courteous, like visiting guests.
Yielding, like ice about to melt.
Simple, like the uncarved blocks of wood.
Hollow, like caves.
Opaque, like muddy pools.
В
Who can wait quietly while the mud settles?
Who can remain still until the moment of action?
Observers of the Tao do not seek fulfillment.
Not seeking fulfillment, they are not swayed by desire for change.

The Riddle of Perception
В
"Claiming that the brain is the source of everything we perceive (sensations, images, feelings and thoughts) is like claiming that a radio composes music, or that a TV writes the script for a show. A processor looks a lot like a creator. The brain is doing lots and lots of things at the atomic and even quantum level, as is a radio. But none of these activities turns the inconceivable into the conceivable. A rose has no color until the visual cortex processes the information from photons striking the retina. That is indisputable. But nobody can spot how a neuron in the visual cortex suddenly "sees" red. All one can measure is chemical activity and tiny bursts of electricity. There's no seeing in that. Likewise, a neuron can't "feel" the hardness of a desk or "smell" a rose, yet we can...." The Peace of Wild Things

When despair grows in me
and I wake in the middle of the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting for their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

- Wendell Berry

The river and its waves are one surf: where
is the difference between the river and its waves?

When the wave rises, it is the water; and when
it falls, it is the same water again. Tell me, Sir,
where is the distinction?

Because it has been named a wave, shall it
no longer be considered as water?

Within the supreme Brahma, the worlds are
being told like beads:

Look upon that rosary with the eyes of wisdom.

- Kabir from Songs of Kabir, translated by Rabindranath Tagore, posted to AlongTheWay

Ten times a day something happens to me like this - some strengthening throb of amazement - some good sweet empathic ping and swell. This is the first, the wildest and the wisest thing I know: that the soul exists and is built entirely out of attentiveness.

- Mary Oliver

For others it is late, for us it is early.
Do not go back to sleep, remember silence.
Remember the name that turns emptiness
into nectar, the fragrance
yet unblossomed on a twig.
Night is over, what's drowned is drowned.
A fiery throated thrush tells lilac buds
our secret.
Come dance in the space between prayers,
where golden atoms of forsythia
once were waves of yearning
in the zeal of a seed.
Transcendence is causation.
Worlds begin without words.
Because you are present, it is Spring.
Meet me where your exhalation
touches the new breath.
We will kiss the white plum open.

~ Fred LaMotte, posted to DailyDharma

Spring, and no one can be still,
with all the messages coming through.

We walk outside as though going to meet visitors,
wild roses, trilliums by the water.

A tight knot loosens.
Something which died in December
lifts a head out,
and opens.

Trees, the tribe gathers!
Who has a chance
against such an elegant assemblage?

Before this power,
human beings are chives to be chopped,
gnats to be waved away.

- Rumi, Ode 1121, version by Coleman Barks from These Branching Moments, posted to Sunlight

When it's over, I want to say: all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.

When it is over, I don't want to wonder
if I have made of my life something particular, and real.
I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened,
or full of argument.

I don't want to end up simply having visited this world.

"Leonard Himself Has Gone Beyond The Need Of Reviews"
Leonard Cohen at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia – March 22, 2013
В
By Vicki Woodyard
В
Avoid the flourish. Do not be afraid to be weak. Do not be ashamed to be tired.
You look good when youÂ’re tired. You look like you could go on forever. Now come
into my arms. You are the image of my beauty.
В
~Leonard Cohen, Death of a LadyÂ’s Man.
В
What I witnessed for over three and a half hours was a man and his touring
company hard at work to deliver the goods impeccably.
В
Leonard himself has gone beyond the need of reviews. The man is a legend. He is, in
a sense, a blue-collar worker. Just like a delivery man might come into a bar with a
box of 24 glasses and say, “HereÂ’s your delivery,” —thus did Leonard take center
stage and humbly deliver his body of work. HeÂ’s your man. HeÂ’s Everyman.
В
В

В
This was unexpectedly added to the set list in Atlanta.
В
I greet you from the other side
Of sorrow and despair
With a love so vast and shattered
It will reach you everywhere
And I sing this for the captain
Whose ship has not been built
For the mother in confusion
Her cradle still unfilled
В
For the heart with no companion
For the soul without a king
For the prima ballerina
Who cannot dance to anything
В
Through the days of shame that are coming
Through the nights of wild distress
Tho' your promise count for nothing
You must keep it nonetheless
В
You must keep it for the captain
Whose ship has not been built
For the mother in confusion
Her cradle still unfilled
В
For the heart with no companion ...
В
I greet you from the other side ...
В

В
Soft Soul Kisses in The Dark
Oriah Mountain Dreamer wrote of her experience inВ a December 2012 concert.
В
Excerpt:
В
Last night I sat in the darkness of a huge stadium and once again listened to
Leonard Cohen singing “Suzanne.” He also sang “Halleluiah" and many of his other
songs over the course of a three and a half hour concert. He was. . . . shimmering
with the heat of presence, and the heart of humility- companioned on stage by
fellow master musicians and singers.
В
But the piece that unexpectedly broke me open was “A Thousand Kisses Deep.”
Maybe it was because he didnÂ’t sing it, but simply recited it with a violin offering
soft sustained notes beneath his resonant voice. Maybe it was the miracle of sitting
in the dark with thirty thousand other people who were listening in rapt silence to
a Canadian poet recite a poem, reminding me of the power of words. He held the
microphone close and became the words:
В

“The ponies run, the girls are young,
The odds are there to beat.
You win a while, and then itÂ’s done –
Your little winning streak.
And summoned now to deal
With your invincible defeat,
You live your life as if itÂ’s real,
A Thousand Kisses Deep. . . . ”
В
В
Suddenly, my face was wet with tears.
В
Because itÂ’s so easy not to live “a thousand kisses deep.” So easy to skim the
surface, to write about things instead of letting the words hold the rawness of our
particular joys and our sorrows.
В (...)
Because itÂ’s hard to live a thousand kisses deep, to face the smallness of our lives
and the largeness of our loves; because it requires courage to live with the
knowledge of our "invincible defeat" in both the small daily things that undo our
resolve, and the knowledge of our mortality. Because itÂ’s a little crazy, when asked
about your financial plan, to talk about the book you're writing without
consideration for what is “marketable,” for what can be “leveraged for other
products and spin-offs.” Because living in a secular culture with a passion for the
sacred and an awareness of the very real magic that runs throughout life can make
you feel a little out of step with the world around you.
В
But for the soul there is no other way to live, and all the fears, all the holding
back, all the attempts to be measured and reasonable, to not pour the messy details
of the past, the wild dreams of the future, and the full sensual experience of the
present onto the page just wonÂ’t cut it.
В
Because not living our particular life, as Leonard says, "as if itÂ’s real" leaves the
soul hungry and sad. And life is too precious and too short not live to the edges and
the depths, not to live “A Thousand Kisses Deep.”

В
Dustin LindenSmithВ presented the following at last night's Nonduality Satsang in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
В
The way my life has been unfolding in recent weeks can really best be described as perfect. AsÂ… 100%, purely perfect. But it's not perfect in the way you might first think. It's not perfect because everything is working out perfectly for me. No, it's perfect because I've stopped believing that I need anything at all to work in a certain way in order for my life to be okay. I've stopped believing the story that I've been telling myself for more than 30 years about who I am, why I am the way that I am, and what I need to do next in order to become a complete, whole, fully-healed, perfect person.
В
I've stopped believing in that whoooooole story. That personage I've been trying to protect all this time is a complete illusion; a piece of outright fiction, dreamed up out of the ether.
В
-----
В
There is no other way things could be than the way they are.
В
Everything, absolutely everything, is unfolding exactly as it should.
В
We are here, now.
В
There is nowhere else we are meant to be right now other than rightÂ… here.
В
Ask yourself, after you've been silent for a few moments: do you accept the knowledge that you are already that which you are seeking? Do you accept this as fact, or do you continue to question it?
В
If you continue to question it — if you say, "Yes, I understand this intellectually, but I just don't believe it experientially yet" — then ask yourself this simple follow-up question: Who are you, REALLY?
В
Boil your personality down to its most basic, fundamental element. Can you see who you are with any clarity? Is it not more plausible that you are NOT a flawed individual who has something inside themselves that needs to be FIXED and who won't be ENLIGHTENED until they WAKE UP to the essential reality of all that there is?
В
There IS no enlightenment. And there is no "enlightenment moment," after which everything in life becomes crystal clear and unfolds perfectly, without causing any undue stress or pain or conflict or whatever.
В
As we learn to trust this fact, the pleasant byproduct of the experience is that the stress and conflict dry up and blow away like dust. Once we realize that the so-called "stress" and "conflict" are just names we've assigned to a physical or psychological state THAT WILL PASS, we can let go of our need to FIX EVERYTHING. It cannot be fixed, it JUST IS.
В
To be at peace with that, we must surrender our wish for things to turn out a certain way. We must let go of our incessant need to be right. And we must release our expectations about living up to some perfect standard that was probably never realistic in the first place.
В
There is nothing to be stressed about, AT ALL. You arise in stress, stress does not issue forth from you. YOU, the so-called YOU, are indelibly BEYOND stress and conflict. You are pure, unadulterated BEING, and you have no basis to be tense about how "life" will turn out for "you."
В

Witness of the duality..?
В
By: Balwinder Singh on Mar 29, 2013
В
Duality is mere mirage created out of nondual stuff. That stuff isВ  soul . The soul is present in the form of consciousness. Consciousness is The formless substance and witness of the three states, which comes and goes in sucssion. The three states are mere mirage created out of consciousness.
В
В  The man and world are present within the mirage. Thus whatever is felt as real within the mirage is unreal, only the substance of the mirage is real. Thus man and the world are unreal and consciousness alone is real and eternal.
В
В Man and his experience ofВ  the world exist within the waking or dream. All the objects are present when theВ  mind is present . And the mind is present when the universe is present. The universe is present when the waking or dream is present. TheВ  universe or the waking orВ  the dream is nothing but Mind because without the mind they ceases to exist.В
В
В Till man thinks he and the all other objects of the world are apart from him, the duality wills persist, and there will be no unity in diversity. mindВ В  cannot exist independent of consciousness.
В
В Thus it is necessary for the seeking mind to realize whatever exists in waking or dream is created out of consciousness , therefore, the universe(mind)В  as a whole is the consciousness.В  Thus, whatever exists within the mind is bound to be theВ  consciousness . Thus no second thing exists other than theВ  consciousnessВ В  knowing and realizing this fact, brings unity in diversity.В В В В В В

Consciousness (soul) is the substance and witness of the duality.В  The duality is present in the form of mind. Mind is present in the form of universe. The universe appears as waking or dream and diapers as deep sleep. The one which is aware of the coming and going of the three states is neither the waking entity nor the dream entity but the formless soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.В  When the soul becomes aware of its formless nondual true nature in the midst of duality it is called self –awareness. It is foolish to limit the consciousness only to duality because the consciousness pervades all the three states.
