A Rain Drop


have you ever watched a rain drop
sliding down the leaf-blade, after
the shower has washed the earth and
the woods?

moments pass
before the drop lets go of the leaf-tip, and
fall. Moments, that seem so long: soaked in hopes,
fears, uncertainty, and silence.

And, then suddenly, possessed as if
by love, it drops
into the inviting arms
of the baked soil.
